Erika Ito

Product Designer

Career Summary

Studied design in the United States, then built a career in graphic and web design before moving into product design at Pivotal Labs / VMware Tanzu Labs. Worked end-to-end on new product development for large enterprises, from research through to implementation. Joined CADDi in June 2025 and is currently contributing as a product designer.

Why I Joined

After spending about 10 years at my previous company, I began considering a change in search of a new challenge. I was looking for an environment where I could stay involved end-to-end—from research to design to implementation—but struggled to find a company that truly matched what I had in mind. That’s when I came across CADDi. I was drawn to the manufacturing domain, which I had long been interested in, as well as the breadth of opportunity to contribute as a designer. I also saw a chance to leverage my past experience, including working in English. Ultimately, what made the decision was the people I met throughout the hiring process. I felt a genuine desire to work with them, and that’s what led me to join.

Role at CADDi

As a designer on a development team where English is the common language, I’ve been involved from the very early stages of launching a new product. Right after joining and being assigned to the team, I began working closely with engineers on hands-on development. In collaboration with the PdM, I contributed to prototyping and customer interviews, and since the alpha release, we’ve been continuously improving and shipping the product. More recently, I’ve also been leveraging AI tools such as Claude while working to evolve and refine our design process.
